Holding hands, hugging, kissing – these are some of the most intimate gestures that we humans share with each other. Some people might even say they can speak louder than words. And while words of encouragement can be encouraging and inspiring, there’s something quite powerful about being physically touched and held by somebody you care about.
How Do You Do it?
The way you stare at me
makes me wanna hold you in my arms
you give me strength
that I’ve never seen
when something is wrong
you always make it better
then it may seem
how do you do it
how did you break the curse?
you must have a power
the power to accept me for me
Love that I can’t explain
something deep
deeper than you would know
You’ve got me in a trap
that I can’t help but get trapped
in something wonderful
it’s a thing called love
I wrote this poem to get the words out of my heart where they’d been gathering for the last few days. I don’t know what I expected, but it’s nice to talk about it. The words in my heart the words never leave me alone they are always there, waiting to be said but I feel so much better now as I’m writing this, that I’m finally able to feel okay about myself, and be able to let these words out. The words in my heart the words never leave me alone they are always there, waiting to be said but I feel so much better now as I’m writing this poem.
